Yes, I sure that major retailers make very healthy profits from these registries and they are a great tool for gift buyers, but they are still the easy way out. How much creativity does it take, and how unique can a gift be if it comes from a registry. I am sure that there are rare occasions when a gift from a registry is creative and unique, but how personal can it be. New parents like and appreciate gifts for their new baby that are personalized and display unique characteristics compared to all other gifts they receive. Personalized gifts never get returned! They get admired for a lifetime!
